Honestly to this very moment I thought it was you who implied that bus ad campaing is considered as charity which obviously is not.

If the ad campaign is referred to as a “charity” it would be because it is being funded by donations.

So the word 'charity' has many meanings and hence the confusion?
However I can't find definition amongst given by Merriam-Webster, Cambridge, Oxford and Wiktionary online dictionaries that fits 'organization or activity founded by donations'. Help towards needy is required by definition.

Sure, I was employing the term “charity” to denote mere donations but since “Help towards needy is required by definition” then it certainly is not charity.
